What is an e-Visa?
The e-Visa is an electronic authorization that allows foreign nationals to enter a country for :

The Most Convenient Way to apply for your e-Visa
In April of 2024, the Ministry of National Security through the Immigration Division of Trinidad and Tobago, transitioned to this online system for Visa Applications.

The Minister’s Permit
For individuals whose needs or circumstances may vary from the parameters of an e-Visa, another possible avenue may be seeking the Minister’s Permit, which is valid for a period of one(1) year and can be renewed.
This measure, granted at the discretion of the Minister of National Security under Section 10(1) of the Immigration Act, Ch. 18:01, is commonly used as a pre-screening mechanism for nationals of certain countries seeking entry into Trinidad and Tobago before applying for residency or citizenship, providing flexibility for those with compelling personal, professional, or educational reasons.
For individuals intending to work for more than thirty (30) days, within a calendar year, both the e-Visa and Minister’s Permit would suffice in meeting the requirements for said periods. Additionally, it is of note that a sponsor is a requirement for this provision as well, in the circumstance that the Applicant is unable to provide proof of sufficient funds under their name or in their possession to cover the duration of their stay.

- Be a foreign national from a country requiring a visa
- Hold a passport that is valid for at least six months from your intended date of travel to Trinidad and Tobago
- Not have a current visa application in progress.

The Immigration Division of Trinidad and Tobago, reserves the right to request other documents that may be used in support of the application
- Applicants must possess the following documents :
- Digital Passport Photo (JPEG, PNG or BMP format, 15 KB to 7584 KB; size 480 x 640)
- Valid Passport Bio Data Page
- Purpose of visit with supporting Documents
- Custody/Guardianship Documents (if applicable)
- Landing Deposit/ Security Bond/ Valid Return Ticket
- Proof of Accommodation (hotel, guest house, private residence)
- Recent Entry or Extension Stamp (copy)
- Financial Statement
- Job Letter (issued within the last 3 months)
- Invitation/Company letter (purpose of visit, address, contact information, financial responsibility)
For minors :
- Parent/Guardian Passport Bio Data Page
- Birth Certificate
