Standard methods of ADR at Quantum Legal in Trinidad and Tobago
There are three standard ADR services that we offer our clients in Trinidad and Tobago:
Mediation
Mediation involves a mediator encouraging and inviting settlement between parties to a dispute. A mediator does not hand out a judgment like a judge in court would. Instead, the mediator seeks to assist both you and the other side to agree. The process is highly flexible and can end in a more commercially suitable result than a court order.
Arbitration
Arbitration is a more formal ADR service. An arbitrator can be appointed either by a client or the other side or by a professional body that both sides have agreed on. The parties will provide evidence, and the arbitrator will make a legally binding decision.
Negotiation
While arbitration and mediation are more formal processes, parties to a dispute are invited, at any time, to agree to negotiate an agreement to settle. Our team facilitates this at Quantum Legal, where positions are discussed and settlements are agreed upon.
