Judicial review to be heard on 70 migrants at heliport
A judicial review application against the detention of some 70 Venezuelan nationals has been filed at the High Courts.The application was heard yesterday before emergency judge Justice Avalon Quinlan Williams, who approved the request for the urgent hearing of a complaint that some 70 migrants were being illegally kept at the Chaguaramas Heliport.The court is currently on its annual vacation break.The 70 Venezuelan migrants are being represented by attorneys from the Quantum Legal Chambers, headed by Criston J Williams.Attorneys Blaine Sobrian and Shivanand Mohan are also listed as representing the 70 individuals.
