Judge: Release children immediately ‘Illegal move by State to detain Venezuelans’

The High Court has ruled the government’s detention of Venezuelan minors and their parents, who sought refugee status, as unlawful. Justice Joan Charles emphasized the need for legislative intervention to prevent such situations in the future. The decision by the State to detain Venezuelan minors who had arrived in this country along with their parents seeking refugee status has been deemed as illegal by the High Court.
